Kuching has been one of the attractions in Malaysia as the beautiful place of vacationing. Even though Kuching Sarawak is formed as a part of peninsular Malaysia, but that is not an excuse for people from anywhere to come and stop by.
Kuching also has been the most heavily populated city of the East Malaysian state of Sarawak. The city covers an area of 719 sq miles (1,863 km²) and has an estimated population of 1 million of 2012. Kuching is located at the banks of the Sarawak River on the North-Western part of the island of Borneo.
In 1827, Pengiran Indera Mahkota, the representative of the Sultan of Brunei, was the founder of Kuching and named as the third capital of Sarawak. In 1599, Sultan Pengiran Tengah was the founder of two past capitals which were Santubong, and Lidah Tanah founded by Datu Patinggi Ali in early 1820s.
